
Tips
- Dilute one to two drops of pure essential oils with ½ to 1 teaspoon of oil. You can use carrier oils such as jojoba, sweet almond oil or sunflower oil.
- It is important to essential oils out of the children’s reach. If ingested, give an oil-soluble liquid such as milk, cream or half and half and call the child’s doctor.
- Always use a pure essential oil. Synthetic oils can cause allergic reactions. For babies and children, there are nineteen oils that are safe. These include: bergamot, cedarwood, chamomile, cypress, frankincense, geranium, ginger, lavender, lemon, mandarin, marjoram, melaleuca/tea tree, orange, rose otto, rosemary, rosewood, sandalwood, thyme, ylang ylang.
Recipes
Colic
2 tablespoons of Almond Oil
1 drop Chamomile (Roman),
1drop of Lavender
1 drop of Geranium
Mix oils together. Apply to stomach and back. Keep the stomach warm water in a hot water bottle while burping the baby.
Fussiness
2 tablespoons Almond Oil
1 drop Lavender
1 drop Chamomile (Roman)
Mix oils together. Gently massage into arms and legs.
Digestion/Constipation
1 tablespoons Almond Oil
1 drop of Lemon or Orange
Mix and massage on the feet and stomach.
Common Cold
2 tablespoons Almond Oil
2 drops Melaleuca (tea Tree)
1 drop Lemon
1 drop Rose Otto
Massage a small amount on the chest and neck.
Cradle Cap
2 tablespoons Almond Oil
1 drop Lemon
1drop Geranium.
Mix oils together. Apply small amount on the head after bath.
